Well, folks, it’s the end of an era. As I’m sure you gathered from his epic send-off yesterday, Second Breakfast is hittin’ that long, dusty trail and heading on to greener pastures. In over four years of writing for this site, Chris never missed a Sunday, and, well, that’s dope as hell. I’m extremely proud of the work my brother (nepotism!) has done here. It’s been a privilege to watch Chris grow as a writer, transforming from a reasonably handsome duckling into the beautiful swan we all know and love today. I’ll sure miss reading his insight, enthusiasm, and occasional curmodgeonliness every week, but what kind of brother or boss would I be if I wasn’t happy he got to leave with a bang, on his own terms? A crappy one, that’s what. So in the interest of making the next family get together as pleasant as possible: well done, kid.
Sentimental guy that I am, I’ve compiled a list of, yes, Solid Gold Hits. Every week for four years leaves a hefty backlog–there’s so fucking much, you guys–but here are a few of my favorites. I’m sure that Chris’ list would be different, but I am the Boss, and I’m older, so…tough.

And there you have it: the only good reviews Chris has ever written. Everything else is just, *sigh*, just awful.
In all seriousness, though, I think these are a good cross-section of Chris’ talents as a writer. This may have been overly sentimental and downright self-indulgent of me, but hey, that’s what big brothers are for. I hope you check some of these out.
I’ve rambled on enough at this point. On #brand as ever, I’ll bow out with a Tragically Hip reference: “looking for a place to happen, making stops along the way.” Thanks for making this one of your stops, kid. I’m proud of ya.
