Octoberween Eleven: More o’ the Good Times

Comforting nostalgia. Candy*. Halloween and Halloween-adjacent vibes. What does Octoberween mean to you, the people? Frankly, that’s none of our business. Here at Rooster Illusion, the Octoberween Headquarters of North America, Octoberween means only one thing: Fun for the whole family**.

Many of our twelve dedicated readers will have fond childhood memories of Octoberweens past, of crisp evenings spent huddled around the warm glow of a laptop screen with loved ones, gaily contemplating seasonal film criticism. “Papa, isn’t that a pithy observation? I can’t wait to share this very real family holiday with my own children someday.” Studies show that Octoberween is as much a part of the formative Halloween experience as carving jack-o’-lanterns or dressing up as Spider-Man. Perhaps even more so.

In the spirit of the season, Rooster Illusion is serving up another heaping helping of Mummies, Folk Horror, Kung Fu Draculas, Regular Draculas, and Miscellaneous (a favorite of bloggers everywhere, or at least on the internet).

It’s an Octoberween smorgasbord, just like Grandma used to make***.

*Not candy corn, though. That’s an insult to both candy and corn. Just eat wax, guys. It tastes the same, and it lends you a certain je ne sais quoi. Or at the very least a je ne sais pas pourquoi il mange de la cire.

**Assuming your children are also nerds.

***Once again making some assumptions about your family here.
