No, wait. That’s not right.

Nope. Not even close.

Well, that’s probably as close as we’re going to get. Maybe The Twilight Zone—The Tuesday Zone‘s namesake—isn’t the best place to go for an author’s page. Still, it’s as good a place as any to start.
I like me some Twilight Zone. It kicked off my love of character-driven sci-fi and fantasy. The earnestness of human stories is hard to do in any story-type, but when people manage to catch them amidst seemingly inhuman robots, monsters, or wizards…well, I am instantly reminded of everything I like about fiction.
That goes for all genres. Storytelling in general is a personal favorite, whether it’s about quiet romances, insanity-inducing monsters—I’m an unabashed Lovecraft fanatic—or a fantastical fairy tale. Were I a good enough writer, I’d write my own stories. But instead I’m some twit that James found on the side of the road and graciously gave a job. So for now I’ll write about movies and study stories in academic contexts (which is not to imply I’m an academic; I’m just a twit that has somehow managed to trick universities into letting me stick around).
Where was I going with this? Uh, hi. I’m Alex. Nice to meet you. Enjoy the movie stuff.
Alex… email me. I have an idea.
I like your username. Very in keeping with my latest review.
