Love is in the air! And nothing captures true romance more than the magic of cinema, and the top three most romantic movies:

The Dark Knight (Christopher Nolan, 2008)

Everybody loves a significant other that goes the extra mile. Whether it’s wearing makeup every time you go out, planning a few surprises for you; maybe even making you step out of your comfort zone and break a few rules. We all want to meet that special someone who you just know you’ll be doing this with forever. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that this movie makes the top three. And when The Joker told Batman “You complete me…” ? Heart. Melted.

Skyfall (Sam Mendes, 2012)

This one’s for you fans of Fifty Shades of Grey. A little bit kinkier, to be sure; our lovers delight in cat and mouse, one gets tied up at one point. And both have a keen sense of fashion. Sure, one of them has mommy issues. But when this movie gets hot, it brings the heat, and even with their individual dysfunctions, James and Raoul were clearly made for each other. “What makes you think this is my first time,” indeed.

Commando (Mark Lester,1985)commando

And the pièce de résistance. Never has there been a movie more dripping in raw sexuality, never a pair more locked into a fiery crucible of passion. This is two hours of large, sweaty men desperately coming to terms with their love for each other. It helps that Vernon Wells looks like Battle Mode Freddy Mercury, and no massive army of vaguely Latin-American mooks will stop Arnold from getting to him. And boy, it’s lucky for viewers that he does finally get to him, because he ends up penetrating Vernon Wells with the biggest shaft you’ve ever seen…through the heart. That’s…that’s not a metaphor. He throws a giant steel pipe through his sternum. Romance!
